Private-equity provider TA Associates has acquired, through a secondary purchase from existing shareholders, a minority stake in Aurora Networks. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Founded in 1999, Aurora Networks is a pure-play optical transport solution provider focused solely on cable network operators. The company’s array of products includes optical transmitters, node platforms and Ethernet equipment.

Jason Werlin, a vice president at TA Associates, will join Aurora’s board of directors.
