Aurora Networks has announced the availability of its OP4528 Light-Plex product, a one-of-a-kind module designed to merge the capabilities of a narrowcast demultiplexer with a broadcast/narrowcast combiner with added remote power level management for field deployment in Aurora Networks’ VH4000 Virtual Hub (VHub) and NC4000 node platform.

Remote power level management is designed to simplify the installation, setup and maintenance of Fiber Deep DWDM network architectures. In conjunction with Aurora’s element management software, the output level of the combined broadcast/narrowcast signals are precisely set to remotely realign power levels for optimal system performance. With the Light-Plex installed, all network balancing can be accomplished remotely from the NOC, headend or hub without a truck-roll and without interrupting all existing subscriber services.
