ARRIS, Ruckus Partner For Smart Wi-Fi
ARRIS today announced the expansion of its broadband wireless solutions portfolio for cable service providers. The announcement is the result of a global reseller agreement that ARRIS has entered into with Ruckus Wireless to market its portfolio of Wi-Fi products. The agreement calls for ARRIS to become a worldwide channel to market for the combined portfolio of indoor and outdoor wireless solutions.
“We are pleased to enter this relationship with Ruckus Wireless which will enable us to offer both indoor and outdoor wireless access solutions to the marketplace,” said ARRIS VP/GM, Supplies Division Bob Puccini, in a statement. “With this expanded portfolio we can now provide proven and robust wireless solutions to address the mobile wireless marketplace within the cable service provider space.”
The new ARRIS Wi-Fi portfolio brings several significant operational and cost benefits to customers, including adaptive Wi-Fi that automatically optimizes in noisy environments, extended signal range with more consistent performance over longer distances, and simplified configuration and installation. These benefits are enabled through:
- Adaptive Antenna technology, which increases signal strength and mitigates noise.
- SmartCast technology, which identifies and prioritizes multimedia transmissions at the access point.
- SmartMesh technology, a self provisioning and self-healing non-line-of-sight mesh backhaul solution calculates the most efficient backhaul paths between access points, automatically configuring and provisioning the mesh network.
