Comcast is IPv6 ready with some help from ARRIS. The entire ARRIS C4 CMTS platform across Comcast’s footprint is now IPv6-enabled as the operator transitions to the latest IP revision. The deployment of IPv6 with the C4 CMTS platform has been “smooth and successful,” Comcast Chief IPv6 Architect John Brzozowski says. Operators can choose the manner in which they use IPv6 with the C4 CMTS, including cable modem management and dual-stack CPE behind the cable modem. The C4 CMTS supports a broad set of IPv6 features including options for the IPv6 Interior Gateway Protocol, Prefix Delegation and Prefix Stability.
