ARRIS’s Touchstone Telephony Gateway TG852G has been awarded DOCSIS 3.0 certification in CableLabs Wave #76.

The TG852G hardware is the newest generation ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0-certified wireless gateway with support for up to 8 bonded downstream channels and up to 4 bonded upstream channels – which can deliver in excess of 320 Mbps and 120 Mbps, respectively. The TG852 combines 2 voice ports, a 4-port Gigabyte Router and an 802.11n wireless access point into a single device capable of supporting both home and small office applications. Using multiprocessor technology, the TG852 achieves this high bandwidth performance without affecting voice quality.

“DOCSIS 3.0 certification is a key step in bringing to market an IP Gateway EMTA that meets the stringent requirements of service providers.” said ARRIS Broadband Communications Systems SVP Derek Elder, in a statement. “Reliability and WiFi performance are key to MSOs managing their operating expenses as they launch these new advanced services. The TG852G is built to meet these needs with a high power WiFi subsystem, internal antennas and power supplies.”

In other news, ARRIS has introduced ServAssure Live!, designed to provide Technical Service Representatives (TSRs) and call center customer service representatives (CSRs) with real-time subscriber-centric service and device visibility. Additionally, Network Operations Center (NOC) personnel can use ServAssure Live! to view the health status of devices in the network that are not directly tied to a subscriber, such as the CMTS and Call Management Server, thereby allowing instantaneous detection of service degradation, performance of diagnostics and remote repairs.

ServAssure Live! automatically discovers customer premises equipment (CPE) which allows the application to easily adapt to changes in the network without time consuming reconfiguration and manual setup. Its standards-based Web Services interface enables adaptable integration with existing data sources and positions the application as a trusted source of consistent data for the entire OSS infrastructure.
