ARRIS’ CORWave II multi-wavelength solution has been awarded highest honors in Cable & Satellite International Magazine’s 2009 Awards in the Best Fiber Distribution/Transport Solution category.

The CORWave II multi-wavelength optical solution enhances the established CORWave platform, adding more wavelengths and greater distances in HFC systems around the world. By combining broadcast and narrowcast traffic on a single wavelength, and carrying up to 16 of these wavelengths on a single fiber, CORWave II offers operators a robust full spectrum solution that eliminates constraints on narrowcast bandwidth. CORWave II facilitates node segmentation, hub consolidation, and network extensions to remote towns, allowing cable operators to reduce operating costs, reduce service group sizes and provide higher bandwidth services to more customers.

According to CSI Award judge Dr. Roger Blakeway, President of the SCTE, U.K.: “The ARRIS CORWave II solution exhibited several key differentiators: among them: innovation, industry acceptance, and demonstrably solving a specific real-world problem – the resolution of segmentation issues for the easy deployment of high bandwidth services.”
