Ixia has announced an agreement with Adobe Systems that will provide Adobe Flash media streaming technology for Ixia’s testing purposes. Under this agreement, Ixia will develop application layer test emulation solutions as part of its IxLoad product and provide real-world, large-scale testing of media servers, caching systems, and content delivery networks (CDNs).

Ixia’s IxLoad 5.0 will be the first product to incorporate Adobe Flash Player protocols as part of a multiplay testing solution. The emulation of millions of interactive Flash Player sessions allows service providers to ensure a consistent and predictable user experience while delivering optimal network utilization.

"Adobe Flash technology is on over 98 percent of connected computers and more than one billion devices," said Adobe’s John Collins, global OEM partner manager, rich media solutions, in a statement. "Ixia’s IxLoad tests Flash Player protocols with realistic, high-capacity traffic emulation to accurately plan network capacity."
