Cable operators deploying ETV/EBIF solutions can increase viewer engagement and create new advertising revenues by combining the platform with intelligent video streams generated in the network cloud, according to a new white paper by ActiveVideo Networks.

The white paper, titled "ETV and ActiveVideo: Extending EBIF with Web-Infused TV," discusses how cloud-generated interactivity can enrich the EBIF platform by adding a new layer of personalized, Web-infused, video-rich engagement, despite the technological constraints of legacy set-top boxes. Introduced are four use cases to show how prompts created by the efficient, lightweight, well-managed set-top box feature set of EBIF can be combined with cloud-generated, personalized, highly targeted video streams to power a new generation of interactive programming and advertising – all using current infrastructure and set-top boxes.

The white paper can be downloaded from the ActiveVideo Networks Web site at http://activevideo.com/ebif.php.
