AboveNet, a provider of high-bandwidth connectivity solutions, has announced the launch of its Metro 40 Gbps service in all 15 of its U.S. markets, providing what the company believes is the highest commercially available metro transport speed.

The company’s Metro Wave services portfolio is designed to provide high-bandwidth connectivity over dedicated fiber and equipment for customers that have large transport needs. The services, including the new 40G capability, offer various protection options with the ability to add additional services as needed over a private, scalable technology platform.
