A Realignment in the Starz
New media company Starz, LLC, the result of combining IDT Entertainment with SEG, will focus on production of live-action and animated programming, including feature films, series, specials and shorts. Under the new structure announced Tues, IDT has been renamed Starz Media, and SEG has been renamed Starz Entertainment. Robert B. Clasen will serve as chmn/CEO of both entities and of umbrella company Starz, LLC. William D. Myers was named pres/COO of Starz Ent. Key businesses of Starz Media include Starz Home Entertainment and Film Roman; Starz Ent will house Starz and Encore channels, and SVOD service Vongo. Online: AOL on Tues launched "AOL Music Now," a digital music subscription service offering unlimited on-demand streams and downloads of audio tracks and music videos to PCs for $9.95/month. The service also features "AOL Radio with XM," offering more than 200 AOL Radio stations and select premier XM Satellite Radio channels ($4.95/month). Visitors also have the option to purchase songs and music videos a la carte ($.99 per track, $1.99 per video).
