91 | LICENSE TO GROW
Why Him? Greenberg has spent the last year as quite a dealmaker, inking licensing agreements with the likes of Verizon Redbox and Amazon Prime Instant Video, just to name two. Greenberg also expanded Epix’s reach into the world of mobile apps, forging authenticated content deals models with affiliate partners, including the first premium network to hit the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms. Epix was also first to launch on Xbox (with over 1.5 million downloads of the EPIX app in the first week alone), first on Android tablets and phones, and first on Roku players. In fact, Epix is available on hundreds of devices. And we’d be remiss as writers ourselves if we didn’t mention Greenberg’s 15-year tenure on the board of the Nantucket Film Festival where he spearheaded the Tony Cox Screenwriters Award in honor of the legendary Showtime exec, who Greenberg cites as a key mentor in his life.
My peers would be surprised to learn that I… am a fan of the Syracuse basketball team where my son graduated. They made it to the Final Four. I’m also a fan of USC Football where my other son is currently a student. They should have been National Champions, but they lost too many games.
Appetizer or dessert? The “Reversal”—dessert first. Best meal ever: ice cream, then lobster.
I consider this person my mentor, and here’s why: Tony Cox, former chairman and chief executive of Showtime Networks. He had a passion to win and the heart to match.
I watch the majority of programming on this device: TV – I know it’s old-fashioned.
The TV show title that most resembles my life is… “The Wonder Years” ?
