Broadcom Corporation and SK Telecom in South Korea unveiled what they says is the industry’s first 5G Wi-Fi hotspot router. By integrating Broadcom’s BCM4708 and BCM4360 into its newest platform, SK Telecom adds it will help ensure more reliable connectivity to its customers by offloading data traffic to an IP network via a faster 5G Wi-Fi connection. According to Broadcom, its 5G Wi-Fi is three times faster and is as much as six times more power efficient than previous generations of Wi-Fi.
