| November 29, 2011
Get ready to network. The 2011 CableFAX Top 100 and Most Powerful Women in Cable events honoring the industry’s top men and women are almost upon us. We’re guessing it’s pretty likely the schmoozing will continue post-event, so this year we’ve compiled a short list of top-rated spots just a short walk from the Grand Hyatt NY.
Cocktails
Campbell Apartment, Grand Central Terminal
A former salon of early 20th Century millionaire John W. Campbell, this classy den serves up vintage cocktails and small plates to suit its well-dressed business crowd. Great spot for an after-event drink amidst a bit of fine woodwork and lovely, vaulted ceilings.
Sushi
Sushi Yasuda, 204 E. 43rd. St.,
Choose from a variety of super-fresh sashimi, sushi, fish specials and rice purified by bincho-tan (Japanese charcoal). NY Magazine highly recommends the softshell crab.
Seafood
Grand Central Oyster Bar & Grill, Grand Central Terminal
Skip the food court and head for this Grand Central staple, which has been serving oysters, chowders and daily catches since 1913.
Sandwiches
Ess-a-Bagel, 831 Third Ave.
Just looking for a something casual with an old friend? Nosh on a New York bagel with lox or one of this joint’s myriad sandwich options.
Steakhouse
Sparks, 210 East 46th St.

Sometimes, you just need a good steakhouse to impress a client. (Translation: Budget-conscious folks, beware.) Sparks serves up a deliciously tender Prime sirloin accompanied by a highly-revered wine list. The lamb chops come recommended, too.
