Ong, who just left Travel Channel at the end of October, presided over a period of growth and change at the cable outlet. During her three-year tenure, she helped transform Travel Channel into more of a destination brand through such series as “Hotel Impossible,” Baggage Battles” and “Airport 24/7 Miami.” She also oversaw the launch of “The Layover” app, the No. 1 travel app on iTunes.
