The Skinny

Nearly four months since it shut down operations, Black News Channel was bought by Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios Networks. ESN was the lone qualified bid and once the final details are ironed out, BNC’s 300 million linear and digital subscribers will join the Allen Media Group team. While AMG has its arms open, DirecTV wants the FCC to shut the door on whether 5G mobile operations could enter the 12 GHz band without disrupting incumbent licensees. It argues interference could be detrimental to Direct Broadcast Satellite providers.
