The Skinny

It’s not surprising Sinclair CEO Chris Ripley isn’t a fan of putting sporting events exclusively on streaming platforms. During a Media Institute event, Ripley went as far as saying it’s an issue the government and society should ponder, calling it shortsighted to potentially block out the 1/5 of the population who still rely on OTA to watch TV. Senate Commerce Chair Maria Cantwell (D-WA) thinks it’d be shortsighted to let the Affordable Connectivity Program wither away. She set a hearing to vote on a bill that’d not only address ACP but the U.S. spectrum pipeline as well.
