The Skinny

When NCTC struck deals with Reach and AT&T to allow members to launch mobile services, it prompted MSOs to take a meticulous look at their long-term strategy and figure out their respective priorities. Those primary concerns were discussed at BCAP’s Broadband Summit last week, with companies such as Shentel mainly concerned about customer acquisition costs and others like Breezeline initially waiting to see how others fare early on. For Standard General’s ever-pending merger with TEGNA, the long-term strategy hangs in the balance after the FCC’s Administrative Law Judge ruled it wouldn’t review the merger until at least June.
