The Skinny

Football-crazed customers of DISH and Sling were left frustrated this weekend after Disney pulled its channels—which include ESPN networks—from the two platforms as the two sides failed to extend their carriage agreement. Just as challenging is the FCC’s merger review of Standard General’s acquisition of TEGNA. The Commission wants more information on each company’s evaluation of the transaction and set a deadline for Oct. 13.
