Times are changing at Netflix. Co-founder/co-CEO Reed Hastings is shifting his role to Executive Chairman, clearing the way for Greg Peters to be elevated to co-CEO. The leadership shakeup has been discussed for quite some time, but it gives the streamer a new vision as it prioritizes cracking down on password sharing and moves forward with its ad-supported tier. As Netflix moves forward, Standard General and TEGNA are also trying to take the next step for their companies. Although the FCC’s third comment period for the two’s planned merger closed Friday, the timeline of when regulators will come to a decision remains unclear.
