HBO Max increased the monthly cost of its ad-free tier, the first price jump for the streamer since May 2020. While only $1, the timing of the hike draws questions with the imminent combination with discovery+ as well as a possible recession in the coming months, but it’ll help Warner Bros. Discovery maximize revenue and continue to invest in programming. Elsewhere is FuboTV, which is also looking to drive up value through its strategic placement of FAST channels beside linear cable networks.
