As we draw closer to SCTE's virtual Cable-Tec Expo, Cablefax will highlight important tech stories in this eletter, making sure you're in the know when you tune in to the show
The past 16 months have been some of the hardest many of us have ever faced. Personally, routines were disrupted and lives were rearranged to accommodate for an indefinite lockdown. Professionally, nothing slowed down. Many faced sleepless nights as they tried to handle the immense pressure the COVID-19 pandemic placed on the cable industry’s networks.
After months of readjustments and plenty of bouts of cabin fever, the industry will finally be able to come together again at Expo. Folks from all disciplines will gather in-person and virtually to discuss how they met the moment through creative thinking, ingenuity and quite a bit of elbow grease. It will also be a time to fully celebrate the joining of SCTE and CableLabs, and to witness firsthand the full power of their collaboration.
The show will really kick off with its general session on October 12 at 10am ET. Program chair Kevin Hart will be sitting down with Zoom CEO/founder Eric Yuan and Corning chairman/CEO Wendell Weeks to discuss how the industry can build on the learnings from the pandemic and the need for increased bandwidth in our networks. The more than 50 Fall Technical Forum will cover the rest, including where the industry is on its road to 10G, energy management, innovations in self-installation and so much more.
