As we draw closer to SCTE's Cable-Tec Expo, Cablefax will highlight important tech stories in this eletter, making sure you're in the know when you tune in to the show.

We’re only two weeks away from Expo’s general session and the ceremonial kickoff to a conference dedicated to expanding technical knowledge and the ideation of innovations that could transform the world as we know it. Central to Expo is its Fall Technical Forum with sessions covering the latest research and thought leadership on topics old and new.

This year will bring back some familiar topics: Wireline Access Network, Converged Networks and Mobility, Video Services and more. Of course, the journey to DOCSIS 4.0 and 10G will be one of the hottest subjects at the conference, but so too will be the latest news on 5G and how it continues to work together with WiFi networks to create one connected environment for consumers.

Some of the topics this year are reflections of the new world established by the COVID-19 pandemic. SCTE President and CEO Mark Dzuban highlighted the Expo’s L&D Experience (Oct 12, 1-5pm ET) as a key focus for this year’s Expo in his recent column for Cablefax, included below. SCTE brought together a team of experts for Expo that will discuss how the pandemic has reshaped learning and how organizations must pivot and embrace emerging technologies for the benefit of companies and employees.

“For example, training programs will continue to adapt and evolve to provide content that engages the modern learner, through interactive technology for a hands-on and safe way to learn,” Dzuban said.

Deloitte Consulting’s Julie Hiipakka will deliver the session’s keynote address while Jim Kirkpatrick, Senior Consultant with Kirkpatrick Partners, will offer in-depth thoughts on why and how training should reinvent itself sooner rather than later.

If you can't make it to every session, Cablefax will have you covered with our Expo Show Daily. We look forward to seeing you all there!
