There’s light at the end of the tunnel for the Writers Guild of America. The WGA and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers reached a tentative agreement to end what’s been nearly 150 days of striking. There are still some steps that need to be taken before a deal becomes fully finalized, but now there’s some framework for SAG-AFTRA to use as it goes through its own negotiations. The Hollywood strikes might be nearing a resolution, but the future of the Affordable Connectivity Program still hangs in the balance. A potential government shutdown could spell trouble for companies and the more than 21 million participating households.
