The Skinny

The connectivity industry has plenty of problems to solve, but there’s still progress being made in a couple of areas. SCTE is preparing to take a more active role in the fight against network vandalism as it gears up to launch its first new standards subcommittee in 12 years. The goal, according to President/CEO Maria Popo, is to further assist providers with preventing, documenting and responding to attacks. At the same time operators grapple with infrastructure incidents, a new JD Power survey offered some optimism. The report found cable and satellite providers are making significant gains in customer satisfaction—and narrowing some of the gap with streaming.
