Even the FCC isn’t immune to the industry’s perennial changes. Geoffrey Starks confirmed that the agency’s open meeting for May was his last as a Commissioner, thus creating a 2-1 Republican majority for now. Conservative Olivia Trusty still awaits her confirmation, though several groups are pushing for that to be put on hold until she’s paired with a Democratic nominee to replace Starks. Elsewhere, Charter ended its reciprocal carriage deal between Spectrum News NY1 and Altice USA’s News 12, citing the latter’s lack of professional collaboration with other cable companies.
