As the industry continues to see video subscribers decline, Charter CEO Chris Winfrey didn’t hesitate to give his input on who’s to blame. He pinned it on programmers and their tactics to bundle additional and potentially unwanted content that came at a high price while making that same content available on digital platforms that allow for an “a la carte” experience. But Charter has a plan—as does Comcast. Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said the two’s upcoming streaming jv Xumo should alleviate some cordcutting pains, and it might bring more value to broadband as well.
