As baseball season gets fully into swing, Diamond Sports scored a run after striking a multi-year distribution renewal with Charter. It’ll keep Diamond’s RSNs on the Spectrum TV Select Plus package, and while it’s a big victory for Diamond, it still has lots of hurdles to jump as it looks to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Scripps is searching for more wins as its upfront gets underway. It’s banking on women’s sports—particularly the WNBA and NWSL—to reel in viewers and advertisers.
