Last week’s ACA Connects Summit was packed with discussions, but several folks took the time to discuss pain points they’ve experienced with the BEAD program. FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr noted around a dozen states have indicated they aren’t going to have enough money to cover all unserved and underserved locations. Carr attributed the blame to forced rate regulation and labor preferences, which is a sentiment felt by many ISPs across the country. Many across the country also learned of C-SPAN co-CEOS Rob Kennedy and Susan Swain’s upcoming plans for retirement. The search for a successor is already underway.
