The Skinny

Christmas came early for spectrum stakeholders. NTIA and the White House released their national spectrum strategy Monday, detailing plans to study nearly 2,800 MHz of spectrum to potentially be repurposed. A national testbed for dynamic spectrum sharing will also be created within the next 12-18 months. The announcement provided clarity for stakeholders, something that folks in the broadband industry are hoping to gain regarding the FCC’s proposed definition of digital discrimination. Providers expressed concerns about the broad list of covered entities and service elements in the current digital discrimination draft order if it is adopted.
