Most of the 3Q25 earnings calls are in the books, and for cable operators, the results didn’t look pretty. Charter, Comcast, Optimum, Cable One and others reported declines in internet subscribers, with most of the blame being put on competitive pressures stemming from fixed wireless’ gains and aggressive marketing tactics. As companies hope their new strategies help them out of the storm, analysts warn that it could be a long journey ahead. Meanwhile, Election Day took place last week, and it wasn’t just the linear folks that had viewership wins. FAST channels gained traction for their coverage as news outlets look to reach those who’ve cut the cord.
