The Skinny

The FCC voted to open the lower 300MHz of the C-band for 5G in 2018, but problems still persist four years later. A number of ACA Connects members have reported outstanding band relocation payments, forcing companies to move funds to be able to finance the transition. It’s not the first time the association has raised concerns with lump sum payments, but it now waits for answers on unfulfilled payments. Netflix is also playing the waiting game as it prepares for the launch of its ad-supported plan Nov. 3, but some analysts say the tier may fall short of making a sizable impact.
