It’s been a battle in the courtroom for some cable folks. DISH is going after BritBox after claiming its online streaming services violate DISH’s patents regarding adaptive bitrate streaming. DISH also alleges it’s tried to contact BritBox regarding the possible infringements since November 2018, but those efforts were to no avail. Another company (or professional sports league) that’s done waiting is Major League Baseball. The league—along with five MLB franchises—asked the Southern Texas Bankruptcy Court to force Diamond Sports to assume or reject each of its telecast rights agreements.
