The Skinny

The government may have temporarily avoided a shutdown, but it’s now tasked with another puzzle to solve. House speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was ousted from his position last week. So far it’s Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Steve Scalise (R-LA) who are pushing for the vacancy, leaving the impact on policies relating to internet providers hanging in the balance. While the country waits for its next speaker, the wait is over for Charter and Comcast’s Xumo Stream Box product. Charter will first roll it out in Spectrum households before Comcast brings it to Xfinity customers “soon.”
