Verizon and Frontier Communications’ merger wrapped up after the companies received the green light from the California Public Utilities Commission last week. However, it took a list of commitments that CPUC will keep a close eye on throughout the years, including deployment requirements, recruiting quotas and pledges to help underrepresented communities within the state—a primary concern of state officials, given Verizon’s pullback of DEI initiatives last year.
