A funny premise will only get you so far. “Schitt’s Creek’s” creators clearly understand this, explaining why the deep, diaphragm rupturing laughs this show provides has always come mainly from its characters. Season four did not abandon this magic formula, and the story of the reprehensible Roses and the poor souls they ensnare in their family drama continues to delight.
