Under Blanco’s leadership, EPIX established a new brand for its digital experiences. His efforts have included the redesign and improvements of all application user interfaces. EPIX’s iOS app used to have a user rating of two stars, and thanks to Blanco it’s now up to five stars. His team won EPIX’s latest Hackathon event, with their idea for optimizing Android devices under development to be launched. He’s the only individual with undefeated status for company Hackathons. “I am proud to have become part of the team that has brought digital products in-house at EPIX,” he says.

What has been your biggest professional accomplishment to date?
I am proud to have become part of the team that has brought digital products in-house at EPIX.

What attracted you to this industry?
As an avid consumer of media, I’m fascinated by how content is presented to users and how its consumption evolves from year to year.

Best piece of professional advice you’ve received?

The best advice I have received was learned through experience; how to behave and communicate with my peers, make sure you don’t burn any bridges even if the situation is dire, and find ways for your team to buy into your initiatives so they become missionaries rather than mercenaries for the work being done.

Your favorite Snapchat filter?

For some reason the “Puking Rainbows” filter really speaks to me.

Meme/GIF that you relate to most?

I use the “Kermit the Frog sipping tea” one pretty often.

What is your favorite app these days?
I would have to say Abstract, it has given my design team accountability over version control and management of our design files. We also rely heavily on Slack from collaboration.

How do you relax?
