The EPIX 4K launch would not have gone nearly as smooth without Soerensen. The project came at risk of unraveling, until Soerensen advocated for a major switch in engineering strategy in the final month before launch. He also played a key role in ensuring the company’s platform and systems were compliant with Comcast, which facilitated the biggest customer rollout in the net’s history. “Best piece of advice I’ve ever read is ‘No man ever listened himself out of a job’ by Calvin Coolidge. Showing empathy as well as listening to your coworkers, regardless of role, is hugely important to me,” he says.
