thePlatform, a white-label video publishing company and subsidiary of Comcast, has disclosed via its blog that it is managing the online video efforts of two additional major Canadian media companies: 1) Canwest, a Canadian media company, including its largest broadcasting property, GlobalTV, and other specialty channels; and 2) the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), which needed an on-demand video and audio portal for broadcast TV, film clips, and webisodes from numerous Canadian and global content producers.

These newly named customers build on thePlatform’s online video publishing deals with other media companies in Canada. Specifically, thePlatform supports Rogers, with its “TV Everywhere” implementation of Rogers On Demand Online. thePlatform also enables Corus Entertainment to deliver broadband video through a number of their entertainment portals.
