Thomson Gains EuroDOCSIS, DOCSIS 3.0 Certifications

Thomson has gained DOCSIS 3.0 and/or EuroDOCSIS 3.0 certifications for some of its cable modems and VoIP gateways.

The company's TCM470 cable modem and THG570 VoIP gateway are EuroDOCSIS 3.0 certified and designed to bond eight downstream channels in one chipset. Both products are DOCSIS 3.0 and EuroDOCSIS 3.0 dual mode. TCM470 features include up to 320 Mbps download speed, IP multicast, and layer-2 VPN. It also supports IPv6. The THG570, which is also EuroPacketCable 1.5 certified, is a two-line EMTA designed for data rates of up to 320 Mbps.

The DCM475 cable modem and DHG575 VoIP gateway are DOCSIS 3.0 certified and designed to let users start with four downstream channels and then move to eight as and when required by means of a software upgrade.

All four products are designed for backward compatibility for either DOCSIS 2.0 or EuroDOCSIS 2.0 as appropriate.
