Canada’s Espial Group Inc. has a deal in the works to acquire all of the outstanding shares of U.K.-based ANT plc in exchange for an all-cash consideration; ANT provides IP, hybrid and connected-TV products and services, and its software featuring HTML5 user experiences has been deployed in set-top boxes, tablets and smart phones…Oregan Networks, a U.K.-based IPTV software and systems specialist, notes Batelco, reportedly the largest telecom operator and ISP in Bahrain, built its the country’s first broadband video service on set-top boxes that include Oregan’s technology. Through its BlackBox video service, Batelco offers an advanced fiber-optic backbone infrastructure, and the Oregan software enables such IPTV and Web features as the streaming of HD on-demand and linear video, catch-up TV, an interactive programming guide, time shifting and personal video recording and keyword-based search…Canada’s DragonWave Inc. today signed the final papers to acquire certain Chinese operations of Nokia Siemens Networks’ microwave transport business in China. Some 100 Shanghai-based staffers already have transferred to DragonWave.
