Moving forward, streaming start-up Aereo is offering potential New York City subscribers a free trial of the service (currently a legal hot button, click here for more information), including an hour of free streaming a day (no DVR). Those wanting to spend $8/month get unlimited access and 20 hours of online DVR. For those ponying up $12/month, the DVR storage ratchets to 40 hours. Don’t want commitment? There’s a $1/day pricing plan (includes three hours of DVR storage)…MobiTV ramped its data center to manage all types of movie content for multi-screen delivery; it now says it’s capable of ingesting and processing petabytes of data securely, and it appears the Motion Picture Association of America Inc. is satisfied with its security and storage procedures.
