The E6607B EXT wireless communications test set and its companion E6617A multiport adapter from Agilent Technologies increase test throughput and reduce test costs in the manufacturing of current- and next-gen smartphones and tablets that contain multiformat and multiband technologies, the company says. The EXT is an integrated one-box tester that includes a vector signal analyzer, vector signal generator, high-speed sequence analyzer and multiformat hardware. The compact MPA adds simultaneous receiver testing, sequential transmitter testing and simultaneous GPS testing of as many as four dual-antenna devices at a time. Both are available now, with prices starting at $43,900 and $19,500, respectively…Canada’s Miranda Technologies Inc. tweaked its NVISION 9000 router control system to include new customer options for router system upgrades via bi-directional communications with all NVISION routing systems and many legacy, third-party router systems. SD systems can migrate to 3Gbps/HD without scrapping an existing routing and control system, the company says, adding, “With advanced tie-line control, the NVISION 9000 controller calculates the most efficient path from router to router and instantly makes the connection. All the user has to do is select a source and destination without worrying about the background complexity”…Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has begun volume production of its ultra-fast embedded memory for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices in 16-, 32- and 64-gigabyte (GB) densities. The Samsung eMMC (embedded multimedia card) Pro Class 1500 reportedly can read data sequentially as fast as 40 MB/s and writing it as fast as 50 MB/s. For random reading and writing, it can process up to 3500/1500 IOPS (inputs and outputs per second), four times the speed of previous eMMC solutions, Samsung adds.
