Digital Adware’s year-old modular ad-insertion platform AdSync has been deployed in 12 systems. AdSync also is available from systems integrator Mega Hertz…Speaking on the OTT/TV Everywhere panel, NBCUniversal executive vice president/Content Distribution Matt Bond said Comcast was able to roughly double TV Everywhere usage by streamlining its credentialing process for subs, but challenges remain when it comes to long-term business models. Adding measurement “is vital,” he believes Nielsen will come up with a multi-day ratings plan for both linear and online viewing…Cord-cutting or –shaving still remains top of mind, but research says it will take 20 years for today’s viewers to make a significant shift away from their current viewing habits. Sandy Hendrick, marketing supervisor at Horry Telephone Cooperative, says dependence on linear TV is age-specific, and that there’s “nothing alarming” yet regarding any big churn to OTT providers. According to all speakers on yesterday’s subscriber-retention panel, bundling is the killer app right now, but operators need to be careful not to throw everything into a single bundle.
