The QuickTest automated system from integrated logistics and repair services provider Contec (Booth 2121) now can provide support and service assurance for set-top boxes and other consumer devices. Included are a database for monitoring efficiency, pass rates and performance for all reverse logistics or return loop operations; automated notification to MVPDs regarding performance abnormalities and preventive maintenance needs; automated updates of billing-system status and software loads; and real-time, live, online customer support. Data can be shared by operators and repair centers…Aurora Networks Inc. (Booth 2335) will showcase some new initiatives to further exemplify how it is “Defining the Evolution” of the cable industry, and it also will include products related to multiservice access technologies, digital HFC architecture, xPON services for urban and rural apps and universal digital return platform segmentation solutions…CommScope Inc. (Booth 11) will unveil a new passive optical network (PON) solution and an upcoming Converge Cable Access Platform (CCAP) platform. The new PON family of solutions helps MSOs deliver advanced voice, video and data services to their subscribers using fiber-optic networks in various situations, including residential FTTx, access networks for commercial accounts, multi-dwelling units, commercial in-building, security and building automation, and wireless access points. The CSP (Converged Services Platform) family for CCAP adds support for DOCSIS upstream and MAC (media access control), native IP processing and EPON/EPOC (EPON over Coax) support in a denser, more scalable platform, the company notes.
