SAP Mobile BI Lead Faces Challenges
Mobile business-intelligence (BI) solutions give senior execs and line-of-business managers ready access to BI information during the decisionmaking process. In its latest BI evaluation, Ovum says mid-sized vendors like MicroStrategy, Information builders and Yellowfin offer feature-packed yet functional mobile solutions while mega-BI vendor SAP is in the lead for iOS-enabled devices. Ovum’s report finds that while all vendors support iOS, followed closely by Android (90 percent), there is a “considerable” lack support for BlackBerry (50 percent) and Windows (33 percent) devices. And despite SAP’s lead in the mobile BI arena, Ovum notes competitors IBM, Oracle and SAS also are eyeing increased market share and could influence things this year.
