Products & Services...
— India’s Tata Communications now offers 100 Gbps services on its New York-to-London TGN-Atlantic (TGN-A) subsea cable system, powered by Ciena’s GeoMesh networking product. Tata says the upgrade will increase carrier network performance through the consolidation of transport traffic.
— Support for the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) sink tests now is included in the M8190A arbitrary waveform generator and enhanced N5990A test-automation software from Agilent Technologies Inc. The upgrade gives engineers a new way to conduct sink testing while providing a cost-effective, compact alternative to the company’s E4887A HDMI TMDS signal-generator platform. This HDMI/MHL tester is the only single-box generator solution available today, Agilent notes. The M8190A AWG configuration for HDMI and MHL costs $113,006, and the N5990A-151 test-automation software option is an additional $13,000.
— Starting in April, Napatech, a provider of intelligent network-monitoring and -analysis adapters, will offer new tunneling protocol support for mobile networks, performing flow identification and intelligent distribution based on the contents of tunnels rather than on the tunnel itself. Napatech also supports the GPLS Tunneling Protocol and IP-in-IP tunneling for IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
