Deals Of The Day...
Comcast Adds A Tasty Customer
Carlo’s City Hall Bake Shop, run by “Cake Boss” icon Buddy Valastro, is using Comcast Business Class Ethernet and Comcast Business Class PRI trunks to help support operations at its new Lackawanna Center in Jersey City, N.J. The shop says it will use the services to transfer images, data and voice traffic between the new facility and its original flagship site in Hoboken, including operational information like custom cake decorations and baking, cake-design consultations, a call center, e-commerce and baking classes. Comcast says its Ethernet Dedicated Internet gives Carlo’s 50 Mbps of Internet performance to support “Cakeforce,” a cloud-based cake-ordering system powered by the Salesforce platform; on average, Carlo’s handles between 80 and 200 cake orders per day, ramping to between 300 and 400 orders per day during holiday seasons. That’s a lot of dough.
