Our Take:

Comcast Xfinity subscribers can now access HBO GO and Showtime Anytime using Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick, the distributor reported today. Platforms on which they’re already available include Roku, AppleTV, Xbox One and Google’s Chromecast. “We now authenticate more than 90 networks across 18 devices and those numbers will continue to grow as new technologies and platforms emerge,” said Matt Strauss, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Video Services for Comcast Cable in TV in the Comcast Voices blog below.

Our customers can now use their Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick to access TVE apps from HBO GO and Showtime Anytime. Both the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick join platforms like Roku, AppleTV, Xbox One and Google’s Chromecast where subscribers can download the network’s app, sign in with their Xfinity TV credentials, and immediately start watching the channel’s shows and movies.
