An attorney by trade, Steve is president of Effros Communications, a strategic communications and consulting firm. He was president of the Cable Telecommunications Association for 23 years until it merged with NCTA in 1999. While with CATA, he was known for his periodic-and often controversial- CATA faxes. From 1971-76 Steve was at the FCC’s Cable Bureau, writing the original federal rules on cable. In 1999, Steve received CableVision’s “Image Maker” Award and he was the recipient of NCTA’s first Vanguard Award for Government and Community Relations. In addition, he received a President’s Award from CTPAA.
