Karen McClendon
McClendon is responsible for the region’s human capital operations including talent acquisition, employee engagement, internal communications, training and development. On the charity front, she goes above and beyond serving on the board of a local homeless shelter in Camden, N.J., where she helps feed the homeless. Additionally, she is a regular blood donor and lends her time to The Ronald McDonald House. During Comcast Cares Day, McClendon led a project for her team to collect school supplies and assemble curriculum packets for an underserved elementary school. “Pay it forward,” she says. “Someone helped you, let’s reach back and do the same for others.”
My personal election campaign slogan would be…
Pay it forward. Someone helped you, let’s reach back and do the same for others.
Favorite charity organization you work with?
I work with New Visions Homeless Shelter in Camden, NJ on a regular basis. The organization does a tremendous job of providing safe shelter, food and clothing to so many in the homeless community. I love supporting this charity because everyone is so warm, loving and accepting. My children and I prepare and serve meals and collect donations on their behalf as often as monthly.
